I received the idler and pinch for my Tandberg 6000x today, guy I have to say they are as good as new.
I now have both rollers in the machine and it is working like it did when it was new.
The speed is dead on and it is so quiet running that you can barely hear it.
Sine waves are dead on no waver.

I will be getting another set of rollers off to you as soon as I can get around to it.

I'm glad you e-mailed me because it reminded me that I
said I would let you know how that axled roller worked out
in that movie projector. It functioned flawlessly and I
anticipate many years of reliable service. The individual
that I did the repair for has moved to Florida, but I hope to
be in contact with him some time before the year is out
and I will ask him about the perfomance.
Thanks again for a nice job on what I know was a
challenging repair. As far as WestTech was concerned,
his price he quoted was half-again what you charged and
his turn-around time would have been 30 days. Rest
assured that I will always come to you first with any
repairs of that nature. Keep up the good work!

Yesterday I checked out the 3 Stellavox pinch rollers you rebuilt for me. I put them (successively) on a SP7 I have and compared their flutter against a new roller. Using my Sound Technology 1500A Tape Recorder Test Set I found that there was no measurable difference either in total (computed) flutter or then harmonic structure of the flutter between your rebuilts and a "stock" new unit. WELL DONE.
By the way, I'd appreciate you letting people know that I repair and rebuild Stellavox, Revox and Ampex tape equipment.

Hey, this thing works better than it ever had since I bought it new in

Now with income tax return preparation out of the way I have had the opportunity to enjoy
operating the Rek-O-Kut with the expertly refurbished idler. The table performs wonder-
fully with a minimum of noise and excellent steady speed (verified with stroboscope).
Many thanks for a job well done.
I will hopefully have the other idler (the original) ready to send in on Monday with the
form and the regular fee. This idler is probably the one that you would like to record in
your database. I'll include all necessary information on the form.

Terry,
I received the roller for the Otari MX70. It was hard to install,
but with a little tap with a rubber mallet, it was back on and
working well. Thanks again for the great service.

I'm looking at acquiring a 1/4 inch 2 track mx
5050 to bounch and mixdown to - might be
getting in touch again soon!

The Sony Idler is working perfectly.
I noticed last night that the machine iis now
on mono instead of stereo. The right channel does not
record or play back. I will try to have it fixed somehow.

Hi Terry,
Just a quick note to tell you the pinch rollers
arrived and they are perfect!!! They not only
look great but they fixed the problem my
machine was having that caused the tape to
actually move out of alignment with the tape
head.
Out of curiosity, how did you learn how to do
this type of work?
I will certainly give you my highest
recommendation to anyone that ask about
needing new pinch rollers.

Before your restoration I had to disconnect the supply reel brake roller
in order to prevent slippage of the tape on the capstan. Reinstalled
the brake roller and the restored pinch roller this afternoon and

I had been cleaning the rubber on the roller with M.G. Chemicals
Rubber Renue. I'm told that alcohol is not good for the rubber. Do

Hi Terry, I received the roller and am playing my tapes again. Roller
works great! Even cured a persistant problem I had when auto
reversed (tape "ran off" the carrier) and was a real pain; now tracks
perfectly.
Is there any particular do or don't regarding care (cleaning)?

Hi Terry,
Boy, what fast and excellent service. Just a quick note to thank you
for the PERFECT roller I just received from you and installed on my
Sony TC-500. I am sure the machine works as good as it ever did
(which isn't that bad for this style and vintage). For a 35-40 yr old
tube job with it's own el-cheapo dynamic cardioid mikes it does a
pretty good job of recording classical piano. The slightest speed
fluctuations will show up and NOW THEY DON't.

phonographs that could use a new idler, but don't know how much info
